Entering into
the spirit of Global Enterprise Week, the Managing Director of one of Lancashire’s most successful
businesses, Kleeneze, visited the new Darwen Aldridge Community Academy
(DACA) today in a bid to encourage budding young entrepreneurs to think
about their future.
Based in Accrington, and part of
multi-channel retailing giant Findel Plc, Kleeneze is a significant
employer in the area, and one which recognises that home grown talent
should be nurtured to allow people to develop to their full potential.
With
unemployment figures in the North West at
230,000 and above the national average*, there has never been a better
time to educate and foster the talent of the next generation of
employees as they start to think about their future careers.
DACA, the UK’s
only academy to boast entrepreneurship as its specialism, invited Jamie
Stewart along to the school as a guest speaker to engage with its year
11 students. This activity formed part of a wider programme of events
that have taken place during this week at the Academy in celebration of
Global Enterprise Week.
Earlier today,
Jamie encouraged students to think carefully about the options that are
available as the students prepare to sit their G.C.S.E’s. Stewart
believes that making the most of education is key as the skills that
the students learn now will lay the foundations for their success later
in life.
As the youngest
ever Managing Director at the Findel Plc group, at just 35 Jamie
Stewart has quickly climbed the corporate ladder due to his
highly-ambitious and driven nature and wanted to share his career
experiences with the academy’s students.
Jamie comments: “A positive attitude and a
determination to succeed are essential in business. I hope that by
sharing my own experiences with the students at DACA, I can help them
to make the world of business relevant to them and also help them think
about the decisions they will have to make in order to be successful in
their chosen careers.”
As well as
discussing his business achievements, Jamie focused on the challenges
he has faced, what opportunities Kleeneze can offer, and also gave the
students a few insights into the secrets of his own success.
Vice Principal
of Entrepreneurship at DACA, Jade Parkinson-Hill, adds: “We are really
grateful that our students have had the opportunity to hear
inspirational speeches from successful member of the local business
community during Global Enterprise Week.
“The specialism of entrepreneurship
will equip students with the life and social skills
they will need to reach their full
potential, helping to create highly motivated and confident learners.”
